Operation
Operation
Ziptrak® Interior Blinds should glide smoothly. If resistance occurs, please contact the Retailer who installed your blinds for inspection and support.
Manual Operation
Always operate the blind from the centre. This will ensure the fabric rolls evenly onto the top tube.
Motorised Operation
Supervise blinds while in motion and never operate motorised blinds by hand.
Avoid rolling up blinds when wet or covered with condensation to prevent damage and mould.
Cleaning & lubrication
Cleaning & Lubrication
Keeping the fabric clean is an important part of maintaining your blind.
How to clean
- Clean methods depend on the selected material.
- Wipe componentry (bottom bar, vertical tracks and pelmet) using a soft household cloth.
- Remove stains as soon as possible.
What to avoid
- Never use detergents, cleaning fluids, soaps or window sprays.
- Never allow solvents or petrochemicals to touch the blind.
- Avoid vacuuming the blind surface. If required, use a brush head only and apply no pressure.
- Do not allow stains to remain.
Lubrication Guide
In general, Ziptrak Interior blinds should not require additional lubrication. However, in dusty locations, you may wish to add lubricant to assist with the continued smooth operation, approximately once a year.
How to lubricate your blinds
step 1
Fully lower the blind.
step 2
Apply dry-based silicone spray into the groove between the spline and the track.
step 3
Spray only the exterior side of the blind, on both the left and right tracks.
step 4
After lubrication, open and close the blind several times to evenly distribute the silicone spray within the track.
Do NOT use any oil-based lubricant. Only use food- or dry-based silicone spray.
Troubleshooting
Level the Bottom Bar
Ziptrak® Interior Blinds should always be operated from the centre.
Problem
Bottom bar appears uneven when blind is fully retracted.
Cause
Blind operated from one side instead of the centre, causing uneven retraction.
Solution
Always operate the blind from the centre.
If the issue persists, contact your installer for adjustment.
Question & Answers
Have questions about Ziptrak® Interior Blinds? Find answers to the most common questions below.
How is the Ziptrak® Interior blind operated?
The Ziptrak® Interior blind can be either hand operated or motorised.
With hand operation, the blind is spring balanced, resulting in the blind weight being supported by a tensioned spring inside the pelmet. The subtle bottom bar is easily moved with the touch of a finger, allowing you to open or close the blind in seconds, or leave at any intermediate position along the track.Note: Depending on the installation height, an optional pull stick is available to extend your reach and assist in lowering the blind.
For motorised blinds, there is no visual difference when compared to a manual blind. You’ll have a simple, easy-to-use remote that allows you to open or close the blind with one touch. Whilst in movement, touch again to stop the blind and leave it at any position along the track.
Neither manual nor motorised Ziptrak® blinds require cords or chains, which add unnecessary clutter to your window and a safety risk to children.
What blind materials are available for Ziptrak® Interior blinds?
Light and translucent or heavy and block out; Ziptrak® Interior blinds come in a wide range of options. Our system caters for those looking for a diffused, luxurious light or advanced light blocking for privacy and light control.
Your retailer will be able to show you dozens of options with different thickness, colour and texture that determine the end result.
- A bedroom or media room may require an advanced light blocking fabric
- Whilst a semi-translucent material may be perfect for blocking glare and providing privacy, without losing the view, in a living room.
Why are Ziptrak® Interior blinds great for insulation?
Ziptrak® Interior blinds have superior insulation properties to lower your energy bills, reduce your environmental impact and make your space more comfortable.
Traditional blinds, such as panel drapes, roller blinds and venetians, all have huge gaps that allow heat to enter during summer and escape during winter. Even cellular blinds, which are known for great insulation performance, aren’t a sealed system as there is a gap to the left and right.
Ziptrak® Interior solves this issue with an innovative track guided system, where the blind material runs within vertical tracks, creating an effective temperature barrier. The tracks are mounted flush against your window frame with highly precise custom installation for every situation.
Why should I choose track guided interior blinds?
There are many advantages to a track guided system:
- Advanced light blocking – no light-gaps on either side of the blind
- Spring balanced – leave the blind at any height
- Hand operated – pull down, push up with the touch of a finger
- Motorised – simple remote for electric operation, leave at any height
- Child safe – no cords or chains
- Superior insulation – no gaps for heat to enter during summer or escape during winter*
