Can Ziptrak® Outdoor Blinds be locked?

Ziptrak® Track-Guided Blinds

Both ends of the bottom bar on a manually operated Ziptrak® Track-Guided blind feature a locking mechanism to keep the blind fully down and secure in high winds.

  • To unlock the blind, lift the centre lock release handle and raise the bottom bar.

Manually operated blinds can also be unlocked from the opposite side of the bottom bar using an optional reverse handle locking mechanism. This is useful for households where people enter the home from multiple directions and need access from both sides of the blind.

Important safety notes:

  • The locking mechanism is not a household security feature, though lowered blinds can act as a visual deterrent.
  • The locking mechanism is not child-proof and does not serve as a barrier for babies or young children.

For motorised blinds, the bottom bar does not have a locking mechanism, as all operation is controlled via the blind motor.

Ziptrak® Cable-Guided Blinds

Cable-guided blinds do not have a locking mechanism; the bottom bar is raised and lowered with either a crank handle or a motor.
