Question & Answers
Have questions about Ziptrak® Blockout Roller Blinds? Find answers to the most common questions below.
How much light do Ziptrak® blockout roller blinds actually block?
The blockout fabric is fully opaque, and the patented sealed side tracks eliminate the gaps where light usually leaks past a standard roller blind. Together they deliver genuine room-darkening performance — typically far closer to total darkness than conventional rollers achieve.
What makes track-guided different from a standard roller blind?
Standard rollers leave gaps down each side and at the bottom because the fabric drops freely between brackets. Ziptrak® welds a continuous spline to each fabric edge and runs it inside sealed aluminium tracks — closing those gaps and giving you true side-to-side coverage for light and privacy.
Are blockout roller blinds safer than corded blinds?
Yes. Ziptrak® blockout roller blinds have no cords, chains or ropes — they use a spring-balanced track-guided system instead. That removes the entanglement risk that comes with traditional corded blinds, making them safer in homes with children or pets.
Do blockout roller blinds help with insulation and energy costs?
Yes. A heavier blockout fabric combined with sealed side tracks creates an insulating layer against the glass, helping reduce heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer. The effect is most noticeable on large windows or rooms with western exposure.
What colour and finish options are available?
Fabric colours span warm whites, neutrals and deep charcoals to suit most interiors. Track colours are available in black, white, and anodised for a seamless integration with your home or commercial space. Your retailer can show you the current fabric and track range with samples.
